Mental Health Forum

January 7, 2023

The Tri-County Network — a gathering of United Methodist Churches in a three-county area surrounding Lawrence, Kansas, has scheduled a day of learning meant to help people better identify and assist people suffering with mental illness.

Make no mistake: People will not walk away ready to treat people with metal illnesses, but they will have a better understanding of what mental illness is, the ramifications of mental illness, how to better serve people suffering from mental illness, and more.

This educational opportunity kicks off a year of a ministry partnership between the churches meant to put a spotlight on one of the most important topics of our 21st century society while emphasizing how God’s love can be shown through the actions of people like you!

The event will be 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 1501 Massachusetts St. in Lawrence.

Workshops include:

  • Mental Health for Dummies
  • Teen Suicide
  • Mental Health in Teens and Tweens
