Mission & Outreach
Central United Methodist Church works to serve its community by being involved in its community. New opportunities arise all the time, so check this page regularly for new ways to serve your neighbors in Lawrence and beyond.

Halloween Hot Dogs
Each Halloween, our congregation dresses up in costume and serves hot dogs — free of charge — to the families in our neighborhoods before the little superheroes, goblins, princes and princesses start their trick-or-treating.
Wesley KU Food Drives
Several times a year, the congregation is invited to go shopping for food items requested for the food pantry used by our United Methodist campus ministry at the University of Kansas.
The lists provided ensure the students have access to the kinds of foods they enjoy to eat while easing their already strained budgets. Food can be purchased at any store and delivered to Central UMC at designated times for delivery to the campus ministry.

Collections for Local Agencies and Families
From time to time, special collections and opportunities to donate items are provided for such local organizations as the DARE center, Willow Domestic Violence Center, and even local families around Christmastime.
